There are two ways you can accomplish this. The first is to use on-page search engine optimization (SEO) to get traffic. The good thing about this is that it’s free. You can also get free traffic by writing articles with links back to your site and placing them in article directories such as GoArticles.com and Ezinearticles.com. Free traffic is hard to beat because, well, it’s free. However, it can take a long time before you really see great traffic. In fact, it might be 6 months or even longer before you see a large amount of traffic.

If you are not the patient type, you can get traffic to a site almost instantly by paying for it. The number one way to do this is with Google Adwords. If you’re not familiar with Adwords, they are the little, four-line ads you see on the right-hand side of Google’s results pages. As an example of these ads, if you were to search Google on the term, healthcare careers, you might be presented with ads for Top 1212 List of Careers, Healthcare Training, the Pima Medical Institute, Monster Official Site, Health Care Career and others.
The more you bid, the better a position your ad will have
How you buy Adwords is the subject for a whole different post. Suffice it to say it’s basically an auction where you “bid” what you will pay per click to have your ad displayed. The more you are willing to bid, you higher your ad will appear on Google’s result pages for your keyword. If your bid were the highest for your keyword, you will get the top spot on the results page, which just about guarantees that you will get traffic.
